Not only did we play tennis in Palm Springs we did a lot of hiking. A 10 minute ride from the house is a place called Indian canyon. The land is owned by the indians you pay $6.00 to get in and there are several trail options. On the hike the landscape was ever changing. As our hike began we came upon a beautiful waterfall tucked into the mountainside. Ahead of us was as oasis full of giant palm trees leading us to a beautiful climb through some rocky terrain who's view looked back down on the oasis. The hike was about two hours long. I had never seen an oasis before, nor have I walked through a forest full of palm trees. It was simply amazing. On the hike we came across 4 woman on horseback. I struck up a conversation with the woman, who told me the horses were theirs and they came from over that ridge, which we later climbed. They told us to keep an eye out for Rattle snakes....yikes!!. That kind of freaked me out. You can bet I kept and eye out. The cacti are in bloom this time of year in the desert, which are beautiful. Here is a link to find out more about the different hikes in the area. www.theindiancanyons.com
